IL-1β resulted in significant increase in apoptosis rate (P<0.05). However, the cytotoxic effects of IL-1β were completely abolished by the addition of 200 mM RES (P<0.05). RAPA and SB216763 respectively attenuated the effects of RES. There was no influence of SC75741.
