Bcl-xL was detected in Western blotting with anti-V5 antibody. Decrease in mortalin (*P<0.05) and increase in p53 (**P<0.005) were observed as a consequence of Bcl-xL overexpression (A). Similarly, Bcl-2 (as detected in Western blotting with anti-GFP antibody) overexpressing cells showed decrease in mortalin (*P<0.05) and increase in p53 (***P<0.001) expression (B).
