Interplay between transient receptor potential melastatin 7 (TRPM7) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC). In this issue of Clinical Science (volume 134, issue 15), Zou et al. demonstrate that this interaction is c-Src dependent and regulates Mg2+ homeostasis, ERK1/2 signaling and VSMC function. This cover features a confocal image from their study, showing the association of TRPM7 with EGFR in VSMC. Images were acquired using a laser-scanning confocal microscope (ZEISS LSM880) with a 40× (NA 1.1) water-immersion objective.
