In this issue of Clinical Science (volume 134, issue 10), Vaira et al. investigate the deregulation of miRNAs in the the transition from indolent celiac disease (upper image) to the refractory type 2 disease (RCD2; middle image) and full blown enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma (lower image). They found that upregulation of the C19MC and miR-17/92 miRNAs in RCD2 and lymphoma correlates with c-MYC/STAT3 signaling activity (brown nuclei), and that this pathway is blunted by Tofacitinib, a pan-JAK inhibitor.
