In the latest issue of Clinical Science (volume 133, issue 12), Oehlers revisits sanatoria treatment for tuberculosis (TB) from the industrial revolution era and proposes the use of anti-angiogenic drugs to treat TB via increasing granuloma hypoxia. The cover image shows Mycobacterium marinum (bright punctate green) in a hypoxic (red stain) granuloma in a section from an infected zebrafish treated with a VEGFR inhibitor to prevent the recruitment of blood vessels (diffuse green).
