1. The lipoprotein lipase activating capacity of serum from 5 to 22 day old rats and male ferrets fed on diets rich in either beef tallow or maize oil was significantly correlated with the triglyceride concentration in the serum.

2. These increases in activating capacity associated with increased serum triglyceride concentrations were similar to those reported for human serum.
